Namaste'
And welcome to the yoga archives.
The practice of yoga is truly the practice of union.
When we practice yoga we bring all aspects of our beings into union with each other. The inner and outer are joined. The spiritual and physical are joined. The emotional and intellectual are joined. The conscious and the unconscious are joined within the practitioner.
Beyond the union which takes place within the individual, there is a union with the world outside the individual. Practitioners of the discipline of yoga seek union with the most simple of systems to the most complex, from the smallest aspects of creation to the largest.
The most common impression people have of yoga usually involves rather twisty positions, called asanas. However, that is only one branch of yoga: Hatha Yoga. I hope to introduce readers to the various branches of yoga.
If you have any questions, just post me a not on the General Baord and I will do my best to answer.
