I am 11 years old and live in the North East of England. I stronly believe in fairies but have only encountered them once at the age of 7.

It was in the 6 weeks holidays and mum, dad and me had gone up onto the moors for the day. We stopped at a small town, (I'm not sure of the name), and had lunch. Then we went into a near by wood to collect Pine Cones. Mum and Dad were walking with me when I asked if I could go and have a look in another direction. They said ok but don't go to far and don't get lost! (It was only a small place).

 I collected some acorns and pinecones, but then I came to some plants. I took some for mum because I thought they looked really pretty, but then I heard people laughing. I thought it was mum and dad so I tried to walk towards the sound, but when I got closer, it sounded as if it was coming from a tree!

I searched it ans found a small hole just big enough for me to look through. I was a HOLLOW TREE and inside was a group of shining lights. They were all hovering and were all in a circle watching another light. They were about the size of an index finger and all had wings.

I ran of and told mum and dad but all they sid was, "Oh, well that's nice". They didn't believe me, but I know what I saw!! The plants turned out to be honey suckle. I was told by my teacher that fairies enjoy eating honey suckles.
